The Obligatory Resolutions Entry Redux

Here are some real resolutions for the New Year, from the deepest corners of my heart.
  • Be visibly kinder to people and much more polite!
  • Do not blow-up at family members--maybe even talk to them once in awhile.
  • Be a better partner to Lisa: tireless, patient, and loving.
  • Spend more time with friends (if I ever get off this NYC project).
  • Devote more time to my personal Japanese, CS, and EE studies.
  • Devote more time to the arts: writing, sketching, digital media.
  • Develop a Time-Turner so I can actually fulfill my resolutions.
  • Increase ability to focus on details while maintaining efficiency.
  • Learn to be a better conversationlist.
  • SAVE SAVE SAVE for a shiny new home.

The Obligatory Resolutions Entry

1. Maintain balance in my life. Obsess over Lisa, being with Lisa, becoming Lisa's husband, making Lisa happy, spending my life with Lisa, ahhhh and work 14-hour days, toiling in front of a poorly-lit lcd.
2. Practice temperance in all recreation. Get shit-faced and watch anime or law and order marathons.
3. Give more of myself, especially to charity. Dress in a Santa costume and go bell-ringing to gank some free change--cha-ching!
4. Adhere to the ten commandments. Thou shalt piss onto luxury sedans when drunk. Thou shalt scrawl on unconscious friends with Sharpies. Thou shalt covet Jessica Alba. Thou shalt pilfer digital media. Thou shalt honor my penis.

After a five-day holiday break, I'm back at work again, in the Big Apple, with renewed vigor. Although I could've taken this week off as well, I decided that it would be nice to have a relaxing work week for a change. Normally, I receive new tasks daily, creating deadline after deadline. This week, since the office is almost deserted, I'll have a generous amount of time to finish up some documentation.

This Christmas was the first that I actually bought gifts for my family. It was heart-warming to see the younger kids enjoy a present I picked out, it was like winning a contest. My cousin, Jenny, a toddler of about three, wore a Snow White costume with her hair in a purple bow. She has plump cheeks and dime-sized eyes that gleam. Her midnight hair, with straight and steady bangs, ends just above her neck. When she runs, it's more like fast waddling, and she holds her arms out as if for balance. I dare say that she is the cutest girl to ever cross a poisoned apple.

I took Lisa skiing for the first time of her life last Friday. She fell and fell, more than pine in a deforestization. Still, with each crash she made progress. By the end of the day, she managed to ski down Snowflake without tumbling. Her frame ached for days afterwards.
